Women in Building Performance
As you may have seen in Amy Beley’s recent blog post, the industry is buzzing after HPC’s 2017 National Home Performance Conference and Trade Show in Nashville. There’s so much energy and excitement brewing around the concept of change. Growth. Possibilities!
The women’s initiative is a fortunate beneficiary of that buzz and excitement and we are excited to share with you just a few ways that change will manifest in this space in the coming months. In that spirit, here’s what you’re going to see:
- The Real Women of Home Performance Q&A blog series has been updated: We’re shifting the name of this series to the Women in Building Performance. We need to expand our industry to be more inclusive, and to share the education and the spotlight with those in adjacent industries to work together. We’ve got a great lineup of diverse women in the industry that we will highlight over the course of the next few months. You can read our latest interview here.
- A real, dedicated website to Women in Building Performance is underway. We are creating a place where you can go and find all the latest news and info on women in the industry. Look for a launch announcement for this site coming soon.
- More women engaged in this discussion is our focus with a larger conversation about workforce development and diversity. The initiative is focused on these issues and is working to forge strong relationships with similar organizations like Women in HVAC, Women in Solar, and more.
The Women in Building Performance working group currently consists of Macie Melendez of Home Energy Magazine, Lindsay Bachman Flickinger and Julie Caracino of Home Performance Coalition, and our fearless leader, Amy Beley of WildRoot Solutions.
