A strong online presence can do wonders for your business and what’s more, creating an online presence for your business doesn’t need to be expensive or require high-level computer skills. By putting in a small amount of time and effort, and following these simple pieces of advice, you can really use online marketing to your advantage.

1. Embrace Social Media

If you haven’t yet, getting started with various forms of social media can ensure that your business receives free advertising and also provides you with a way of interacting with your clients in real time. There are many forms of social media that you can use. For those involved in small business, a Google+ business page may be the place to start. Naturally, being able to take pictures of the finished product really depends on the nature of your work. If your business is providing HVAC repairs, not many may be interested if you proudly display images of your handiwork online. Overcome this by sharing compelling content about energy and cost savings from your products, be it water heaters, A/C units, home energy audits, or choosing efficient lighting. If you happen to remodel bathrooms or kitchens, provide painting services, or anything else that has an attractive end result, make sure you take pictures of each job you perform and post them online. This will let prospective clients see your work, and show them that you take pride in providing a fantastic end result. A satisfied client is even likely to share the photos within their network, giving you valuable peer-to-peer endorsements and further exposure.

3. Ask for Reviews

When many people choose a business online to perform their work, they base their decision largely on customer reviews. You can write weekly or monthly posts offering useful tips and hints for your clients, advice on how to deal with changing seasons, and other useful information relating to the services you offer.
