Utilities Support Efficient Homes

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is a regulated public utility that has been supplying natural gas and electric service to the San Diego region since 1881. SDG&E currently serves 3.4 million consumers in a service area that includes 125 communities from southern Orange County to the Mexican border. Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) has been delivering natural gas to its customers for more than 140 years. It is the nation’s largest natural gas distribution utility, serving a population of 20.1 million consumers in an area that encompasses approximately 20,000 square miles of diverse terrain throughout Central and Southern California. Both SDG&E and SoCalGas are regulated subsidiaries of Sempra Energy. The two utilities have established a new program that offers education, financial support, and assistance in design and marketing to home builders.
