chimney as part of remodeling or re-roofing, and avoiding the cost of needed
chimney repairs. In new construction, avoiding the cost of building a chimney
can make power-venting very attractive.
Noise complaints can also originate from the induced draft fan (exhaust
blower), pulse combustion (the Lennox Pulse furnace requires mufflers and
vibration isolation), and even the clicking of spark ignition. Induced draft
fans and spark ignition are found on many new non-condensing furnaces, as
well.
